I have been painting for some 30 years: selling my work, taking commissions and always painting for the love of it. I have been an ARTIST since I was a very young child. In the gallery that follows, you'll see some works that date from long ago. Even though my approach and my style have evolved, those early paintings are important to me since they are a visual record of my ideas coming to life on canvas and the results were often an awesome surprise. In the 1990's I moved away from careful watercolour portraits to large and moody scenes of Prague's architecture. At the time I also began to explore mixed media which was such fun and creative work.
Now that I am busy teaching art, painting, and learning about printmaking for the first time, I find that I am still attracted to the themes I've always loved, especially urban landscapes and architecture, but my approach and the finished product are different today than they were twenty years ago. Without having planned it, my style and methods have matured, as I have. Now I am more attentive to process and attention to detail. Maybe I am more serious, and although I am not a perfectionist in many areas of my life, I am when it comes to my work and this is very satisfying.
